Picking Packages from The Farmer’s Garden
Last year we will doubled our growing area by adding a second garden on our grounds. We call this garden The Farmer’s Garden. The Farmer’s Garden is home to an abundance of flowers and special varieties for use in our on-farm workshops and wholesale floral sales. Sarah has selected many of her favorite flowers in hard to find colors and sought after varietals to fill the seventeen 70 foot rows of this field. We are excited to be once again offering an opportunity for picking from The Farmer’s Garden by way of “Picking Packages” outlined below. By pre-purchasing a picking package you will become one of our VIBees and will directly support the growth of the farm and our growing space. This means you will be helping to cover the costs of compost, fencing, irrigation, seeds, bulbs and more.
How it Works: Picking from The Farmer’s Garden can take place at anytime during our 10+ week growing season from early August to early October. Picking must be done during our open business hours. You are free to fill your one gallon jug with whatever blooms tickle your fancy, with one exception. We will limit the dahlias to 15 stems per each bucket, but you are able to fill the rest of your buckets with additional blooms. You may always wander over to the zinnia patch to include some of their bright cheery blossoms as well. This is a wonderful opportunity to fill your house with fresh cut flowers all summer long, in a wide array of varieties. Picking packages make for a wonderful gift for the flower lover in your life. Farmer’s Garden Picking Packages are limited, and will be available while supplies last.
The Farmer’s Garden will be home to: Yes, the dahlias. Need I say more? But okay we will… More snapdragons, gladiolas, lilies, bee balm, gomphrena, statice, basil, dill, lisianthus, eucalyptus, fillers and whatever else Sarah dreams up.
