2026 Picking Packages from The Private Garden

The Private Garden is home to an abundance of flowers and special varieties for use in our on-farm workshops, market bouquets and more. Sarah has selected many of her favorite flowers in hard to find colors and sought after varietals to fill this magical space. We are excited to be once again offering an opportunity for picking from The Farmer’s Garden by way of the various Private Picking Packages outlined below. By pre-purchasing a picking package you will become one of our VIBees and will directly support the cost load of spring expenses ahead of opening season. This means you will be helping to cover the costs of compost, fencing, irrigation, seeds, bulbs, staff and more.

How it Works: Picking from The Farmer’s Garden can take place at anytime during our 10+ week growing season from early August to early October. Picking must be done during our open business hours.

For Full Access Private Picking Packages, you are free to fill your gallon jug with whatever blooms tickle your fancy, with one exception. We will limit the dahlias to 15 stems per each bucket, but you are able to fill the rest of your buckets with additional blooms. This is a wonderful opportunity to fill your house with fresh cut flowers all summer long, in a wide array of varieties. The private picking area will be home to the Dahlias, Lisianthus, Mountain Mint, Eucalyptus, Salvia, Phlox, Yarrow, Sedum and more specialty varieties. You may always wander over to the public gardens to include zinnias, gladiolus, gomphrena, ageratum, celosia, sunflowers, etc. Farmer’s Garden Picking Packages are limited, and will be available while supplies last. Gallon picking jugs from the private garden have roughly a $90 value given the types of flowers grown in that area.

New this year is our Dahlia Access Pass. Our Dahlia Access Pass offers four small picking jugs, of 15 dahlias each, during our dahlia season. We will have over 300 dahlia plants, with a wide range of form, color and size. While we focus on hardy ball dahlias that have a longer vase life, we do grow some dinner plate or other specialty varieties. Dahlia season is typically mid to late August through early October (depending on weather). There are only two ways to purchase our dahlias - either on Sundays at the Farmer’s Market in bunches and bouquets, or by purchasing a private picking package.

Details to Note:

We are open on weekends with one or two weekday afternoons, starting at the end of July. Private picking occurs during our open picking hours. This year you must be sure to use all your picking jugs in the 2026 season as we cannot roll them into the 2027 season. However, you may trade a picking jug for a pre-cut bouquet from our Sunday Farmer’s market if you are finding that you have too many left towards the end of the season. There are no refunds on our picking packages as we only offer a limited number of them before the season opens as a way of off-setting our spring farm costs.
